Perfluoroperhydrofluoranthene, C16F26, is a fully-fluorinated, odourless, colourless, non-volatile liquid with the following characteristics:
- Compatibility with most construction materials
- Excellent chemical and thermal stability
- Non flammability
- Practically non-toxic1
Applications
Perfluoroperhydrofluoranthene finds many applications including as a fluid for testing and cooling in the electronics industry, as a fluid for vapour phase sterilisation of medical equipment and various energy transfer applications it can also be used in tracing and tagging applications.
Safety, Handling and Storage
Although Perfluoroperhydrofluoranthene is considered biologically and chemically inert, good laboratory practice should be observed when handling. Perfluoroperhydrofluoranthene has an indefinite shelf life if properly stored in its original sealed container. Safety data sheets are available on request.
